Dorset Search & Rescue are a team of highly trained volunteers who provide additional personnel & resources to the Police & other statutory agencies in the search & recovery of "Vulnerable" missing persons such as:
- Dementia patients Despondents Children Elderly (Dependant upon frailty)
- Missing Hikers / Walkers
Available for callout 24 hours a day - 365 days a year, DorSAR aim to deploy anywhere in Dorset within 90 minutes of the team being called out.
Our motto means "Hope for the best, prepared for the worst" & reflects the determined professionalism of the team. Drawn from all "Walks of life" the diversity of the team is one of its' greatest assets as it enables us to tap into a wealth of local knowledge in addition to the standard SAR training & experience all of our members have gained during their service with DorSAR.
DorSAR now enjoys the patronage of Mr William Gronow Davis, who owns the Rushmore Estate. In addition to the much needed financial support given, the team benefits from access to the estate for training & exercises.
This website will give an insight to what we do. We are always looking for volunteers to join us & sponsors to support the team. Please feel free to contact us for further information. |
